Exploring the War Graves Commission Archives

Our Monday Night series offers a range of inspiring and interesting talks by passionate local speakers.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is a global organisation that cares for war graves at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries and territories. The CWGC commemorates almost 1.7 million individuals, ensuring that all the Commonwealth men and women who died during both World Wars are commemorated in a manner befitting their sacrifice.

In this talk, Annette Parker will explore the Casualty Archive and Commission Archive and explain how you can research casualties and what the CWGC records. She will also demonstrate how to access the Commission Archive both in person and digitally, whilst highlighting some of the historically significant documents contained there.
