The Green Estate Community Interest Company is set in the midst of what someone once labelled the worst estate in Britain. If you visit, you will see, it is a past, present and future hidden gem! Sheffield’s best kept secret!

The Green Estate aims to ‘create better places to live with nature at their heart’. It is a community and ecosystem of landscape designers, meadow makers, park and heritage stewards, green recyclers, venue organisers, volunteers and more who all care about social and environmental sustainability.

The Green Estate and it’s daughter company Pictorial Meadows in collaboration with others including the Manor and Castle Development Trust, seeks to grow as a centre of excellence in building urban landscapes and ecosystems which are beautiful, healthy, adaptive and resilient to uncertain and changing conditions ahead of us.

If you visit you can have a cuppa at the Rhubarb Shed, wander around Green Flag accredited Manor Fields Park (a unique urban park with a sustainable drainage system), see our green recycling circular economy unit or a visit the infamous scheduled ancient monument at Manor Lodge (where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and you can now get married). Don’t forget to look out for our Pictorial Meadows at the Olympic Park in London and at the Tower of London.
