Update on works at Manor Fields Park (18 Apr 2024)

We want to thank all park users, neighbours, local businesses and organisations for your support and patience whilst work continues to create the new Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme (SuDS) in Manor Fields Park.

As reported regionally and nationally, the heavy and persistent rainfall in the UK has made working conditions challenging – with the ground exceptionally wet and muddy.

This means there may be some mud visible in the park, however we continue to work extremely hard with our partners Sheffield Housing Company (SHC) and contractor Britcon Limited to maintain the park’s award-winning green spaces and Green Flag status – whilst keeping any disruption and noise to a minimum, where possible.

The weather will determine the time scales for completion of this project, but we want to reassure all park users and visitors that work is being undertaken when it is safe to do so.

You may have seen the new trees that have been planted as part of our programme of works to deliver the SuDS basin. We also worked with volunteers to help sow some of the new flower meadows which will enhance the park for all visitors and improve the habitat for nature.
