The Green Estate 2023 Annual Report: Coming Out of the Shadows!

When I arrived at The Green Estate in April 2022,  no one seemed to have heard of The Green Estate Community Interest Company. We were a hidden gem! This year we have come out of the shadows! I have really enjoyed working with the team to look back over our shoulders on a really busy year and produce our 2023 Annual Report. I hope you enjoy reading about our journey and looking at some of the memories from this year.

Altogether, it has been a year of transformation in our structure, board, profile and culture. We have become more confident, more outward looking, more collaborative and more ambitious. Also, we have grown our staff, volunteer and board team and are making progress in increasing our income, impact and influence. We have set a direction of travel for the next 10 years. With five awards under our belt including the prestigious King’s Enterprise Award for Sustainable Development, 2023 has been a year where we have been recognised both locally and nationally as a successful and impactful trading social enterprise. We genuinely feel like we have come out of the shadows.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all our staff, our volunteers, our Board and all our friends, supporters and partners. It is a privilege to work alongside you all.

Going forward we have some exciting plans including playing our role in helping Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and Yorkshire and Humber become more Green and Resilient! Next year will be all about growing our impact, influence and income through collaboration. We are really looking forward to working with existing and new partners on this increasingly more important mission to grow engaging, adaptive and resilient urban places.
