What’s happening at Manor Fields Park
Over the coming days/weeks, you’ll notice some activity at Manor Fields Park. This activity is part of a project to install a Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme (SuDS) in the park.
The project is being delivered by Sheffield Housing Company in partnership with Sheffield City Council’s Parks and Flood Management teams and The Green Estate Community Interest Company, which manages the park.
Britcon, a leading solutions contractor, were selected to carry out the work. The company has significant experience in building, civil engineering and steelwork, having delivered high-quality complex projects to both public and private sector clients across the UK.
The initial works at Manor Fields Park will include the installation of fencing around the site compound, with further fencing being installed from the site cabins down to the new SuDS basin. Operating hours during the construction phase will be 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday. There will be onsite security within the compound area.
Pedestrian access will remain unaffected throughout most of the park, aside from a few small sections that will be closed temporarily while works are completed. The short, temporary closures will enable Britcon to safely complete the necessary work and minimise disruption for park users.
Alternative routes will be clearly signposted during the works. Where the new basin is being constructed, the two existing stream crossings will remain open, however there may be certain times when only a single crossing can be provided.
There may be some noise and temporary closures of certain areas/walkways to the park, which will be communicated throughout the project.
