The Turret House at Sheffield Manor Lodge has had a makeover!
Step into Sheffield’s Tudor history in our newly interpreted Turret House and discover the story of Mary, Queen of Scots’ time in captivity. Inside the Turret House, you can:
● Explore the webs of intrigue and betrayal that surrounded Mary during her imprisonment
● Delve into the lives of Manor Lodge’s esteemed owners, George Talbot and Bess of Hardwick
● Discover how the strains of Mary’s presence tested George Talbot and Bess of Hardwick’s marriage
But that’s not all! Brace yourself for a day filled with excitement as you:
● Step into the shoes of Tudor royalty with our new interactive dress-up corner
● Challenge yourself to help Mary escape in our new games area
And mark your calendars because for one unforgettable day, we’re rolling out the red carpet for a special visit from Mary, Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I themselves!
If you can’t make it on the 5th May, then don’t worry! We will be open every Sunday from the 5th May onwards until the end of September. We will also be open Monday to Thursday during the Sheffield school holidays.
