Volunteer Celebration Day

On Tuesday 28 November, everyone at The Green Estate said a huge ‘thank you’ to our amazing group of volunteers who have worked really hard this year helping out our Parks and Heritage teams.

The ‘Thank You’ Event brought all of the volunteers associated with The Green Estate together for the first time to celebrate all the work they do both onsite and offsite.

The volunteers were treated to a delicious buffet lunch provided by The Rhubarb Shed Café along with cakes made from wheat grown onsite as part of the Sheffield Wheat Experiment.

After enjoying mocktails and a game of bingo, the volunteers were then all presented with medals.

Added together, our volunteers have donated approx. 5,5000–6000 hours of their free time to helping out our Parks and Heritage teams, which is incredible.

At The Green Estate, we offer a range of volunteering opportunities to suit a variety of interests – from parks and gardens to heritage and education.
