Update on works at Manor Fields Park (17 Jan 2024)
It’s the start of a new year and we are delighted to see activity back onsite at Manor Fields Park to install the Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme (SuDS).
With the weather going through a drier spell, we have been able to restart work, and you may have seen the reintroduction of the welfare unit and site security at the park. Over the coming days, machinery will be back onsite to dig the pond area, ready for the liner to be installed.
Understandably, more bad weather could affect this, but we continue to work extremely hard with Sheffield Housing Company (SHC) and contractor Britcon to ensure this dry weather window is well used to deliver the works as efficiently and safely as possible – whilst maintaining access to the park for visitors.
Long-term, the SuDS area is designed to ease pressure on Sheffield’s watercourse and sewer, whilst also creating a ‘wetland’ environment that will enhance biodiversity and improve visitor experience.
We will continue to keep you updated with our progress. We are very grateful for your continued patience and support whilst work is being carried out which, once completed, will significantly improve the area for all park visitors.
