About The Green Recycling Facility

The Green Estate Community Interest Company’s green waste recycling is an innovative regenerative service which turns green waste from local landscapers, universities, local councils and domestic gardeners in South Yorkshire into peat-free compost and specialist soils.

We are now pioneers in green waste recycling having set up as a pilot dispersed composting network in 2004 to turn green waste into a certified PAS100 peat-free compost, with any profit being invested back into the local place and people. The service was originally set up as a response to prevent fly-tipping of green waste in Sheffield housing developments. The facility reduces organic matter going to landfill and lowers the carbon footprint for customers transporting green waste.

Opening Times

8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. Last entry is 3:45pm.

Please note that on Tuesday 19th November the Green Waste facility will be open from 10am, this is due to the forecast snow.
