On Monday 8 April, join us at Manor Oaks House to hear Bess of Hardwick’s incredible life story from Hardwick Hall guides Chris and Garry Griffiths.
Bess was a woman ahead of her time who rose from being a local squire’s daughter to a Countess. She was the driving force and builder of no less than four regal Tudor houses – two of which still stand. Four husbands, eight children, Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth I and through her second son founded a dynasty that continues today in the person of the Duke of Devonshire. Come and hear her incredible life story and marvel at this woman’s determination to succeed in life.
