Summer Holiday Activities at Sheffield Manor Lodge

Week 4: Castles & Dragons

Tue 13 August – Thu 15 August

Come along to Sheffield Manor Lodge during the fourth week of the summer holidays and travel back to the Middle Ages with medieval-themed crafts!

What you’ll be making:

• Fierce (or friendly) dragon masks with fire breath

• Mini castle customised with stickers and colours

• Mini catapult with a working firing mechanism

You will also be able to go on a quest trail in our grounds! Find hidden letters for the magic words to calm the grumpy dragon!

Build A Castle: Big Craft Project

This week we will be inviting visitors to help build a castle out of recycled materials. We’ve got all sorts of castle-shaped bits and pieces to help bring your designs to life. This will be a drop-in activity throughout the week which will be shared by children.

What else can I do?

• Dress-up in Tudor costumes

• Explore our historic sixteenth century Tudor ruins

• Discover the story of Mary, Queen of Scots in our newly interpreted Turret House

• Learn about weird and wonderful Tudor medicines in our apothecary garden

• Get lost in our lavender labyrinth, have fun in our sandpit and play outdoor games

Where can I eat?

Drinks and snacks are available to buy in The Discovery Centre and you are very welcome to have a picnic in our grounds.

The Rhubarb Shed Café down the road is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm. You can book a table by giving them a call on 0737 536 6429.
