As a Composting Site Operative, duties are to undertake a range of operations necessary as part of the process of turning Sheffield’s green waste into a British Standard compost.  To service customers and take payments, have a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and requirements. To be responsible for ensuring the site is kept clear of litter along with general housekeeping duties. Competent plant machine operator.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Environmental Legislation especially in the Waste Sector, experience in operating heavy Plant Machinery (this includes Telehandlers, Tractors & Loading Shovels), good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety, experience of loading lorries, brash/bark, loading vehicles to correct weight, understanding of onsite traffic management, shunting trailers, be good at working under pressure and prioritising essential day to day work needs, IT skills, excellent customer service skills and must hold a full UK driving license.  Npors qualification would be highly beneficial.
